Waiting List / FAQ
Please note: If you are interested in adding your family to our waiting list, you must fill out the application using the link located below.
Waiting List
Our co-op has a waiting list because each class is usually full. At times, a family will leave for various reasons. When this happens, we invite a family from the top of the waiting list to join our co-op.
New families are being added weekly to the waiting list. The list currently has more than 75 families on it. We are willing to add more families to this list but want each one to recognize that their opportunity to join us within the next year is slim.
If you are on our waiting list and have children 6th grade or below, we suggest that you consider Lighthouse East. You may visit their website at: www.lighthouseeast.org.
If you wish to be added to our waiting list, please complete the following application: Waiting List Application
1. How do I get on the LCA waiting list?
Use the link in the above paragraph and complete the necessary questions.
Please remember that we have a large waiting list.
2. When can my family expect to hear if we are able to be a part of the LCA?
Please don't expect to hear anything before the end of May or the beginning of June. Even at this point, please recognize that the waiting list is extremely long and will take time to work through. If you do not hear from anyone by June 15 it is probable that there is not room for your family in the coming school year.
3. Can my children attend with a family already in the co-op?
No. The Covenant states that a parent will be attending and participating with their children. This would also circumvent the current waiting list and would not be fair to others that have been waiting to get into the co-op.
4. If there is room for some of my children, can I bring those children and not my other children where the classes are full?
No. It is co-op policy that we not allow this. While this has happened in the past, we found that it was not a good situation for either the family or the co-op.
5. Can I "bump" my child up or down a grade in order to get in the co-op?
No. To do this would be to circumvent the process of the waiting list.
CO-OP MEMBERS
1. How do I know if Co-op is cancelled due to weather?
The Co-op will follow the lead of the Springfield Public Schools. If their classes are cancelled, Co-op will be cancelled.
